    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Huh? we don't even go over 10 mph, more like 5 most of the time. I'll tell you what. I'm going to do a test next time I go with one of the automatic Jeeps. One run in high range, one run in low range & then take a reading of the trans temp off the pan. We'll see then.... The whole point here, is...

WINTERIZING: Full fuel tank vs Empty fuel tank

I've done the same, store it with whatever is left, stabilized, and change filter in spring. Never found any water and been doing it this way a LONG time. 15+ years. This is a pretty damp climate too.

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

I found that wearing my half face 3M respirator with P-100 filters (I used it for fiberglass work) was good at keeping people away from me during the worst of covid. I really did wear it going into stores, got a lot of strange looks but P-100 is better even than what MDs got!

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Given that your boat is, well, a bit heavier than the truck is rated for, using 4-LOW is highly recommended, it reduces the strain on the auto trans by virture of the much lower gear ratio overall and that reduces the amount of torque converter slip necessary to get started. When driving off...

    5.7 Overheating

That part of the cooling system must be 100% right by the book, your Alpha pump is at the bottom most point, any leak point will bleed off water pressure and remember that water has to travel UP about 18" to go through the transom mount and then, about 3.5' forward up to the engine. My OMC...

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

https://corecheminc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Freeze-Point-Chart-GlycoChill-Propylene-Glycol-Heat-Transfer-Fluid.pdf This shows how to mix PG antifreeze if you want to use it for both winterizing and as an engine coolant. If you go up to 70% PG/30% water it brings you to 230* boil protection.

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

As long as you are OK with the lowered levels of freeze protection (-29 for PG vs -34 for EG) and boil protection (220 for PG vs 265 for EG) there's no reason why you couldn't use it for an engine coolant as well as winterizing your raw water side. In fact I'm going to do some more research and...

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

That's a good deal, then mixed 50/50 that's costing you only $11 per gallon. Much better than -60! When I run out of my stock of Sierra I will try that thanks for the tip!

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

ACE hardware used to sell it, I got it from Amazon last time, a case of 6 gallons that would last me a LONG time (each gallon makes 2 gallons of AF, like 3 years worth)...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Sounds like the best of all worlds. Next season I’m going to use the local boat yard’s water taxi service because I’m about done with rowing out in a dinghy to get out to the boat.

    PSA on Winterization Antifreeze

I mix 50/50 & that gives you a freeze protection of -26*F. Yes it is really an engine coolant the main difference between it (PG) and other engine coolants (EG) is mixed at the same %age it doesn’t provide as much freeze or boil over protection but for this purpose it’s fine. You could always...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

Well…. I used to complain about having to get the boat bottom painted & doing the outdrive myself each year but after hearing what a nuisance trailering is every time you use the boat I’m glad I live 1/4 mile from the beach and keep it on a rotating mooring. That and the trailer stays in very...

Are you in fresh water or salt? If in salt the manifolds & elbows are way past due.

Are you sure that the cap, rotor & wires are good, just for fun, ohm out the wires and see what you get. We had a 3 year old Toyota Camry 4 cyl years ago that all the sudden started running on 2 cyls, when I checked the wires, two were totally dead. Very strange, igniton problems are not common...

Continental Trailer Leaf Spring to Torsion Axle Conversion

What I said. Torsions are OK on a single axle but on multi axle trailers one or more can be overloaded, so the axles should have extra capacity vs spring axles that share loads.

Power may be transmitted but the plug may foul for a variety of reasons and not fire properly... reasons: oil leaking past valve seals carb set too rich

Given what you said, it may be that the module in the Prestolite is bad. Last I heard those were NLA but I bet you could convert it to a Petronix (aftermarket electronic conversion) they don't cost much either. First though make sure you have enough voltage at the coil as Kenny said.
