    I would go with pop-up cleats vs folding. the small folding ones are generally for hanging fenders where the pop-up cleats are load rated.

    and the jack plate pushes the motor aft about 4-5" so that really squats the boat. I would stick with a short shaft on the boat.

    You were told wrong It didn't show more than 100 because there is no water in the block With cooling water, your exhaust temp is 200f Without cooling water, the exhaust temp is 1100f

    My guess it the CTS is reading low and the motor never gets out of cold start mode. Have you checked fuel pressure? Do you have Rinda?

    Usually when the floor rots the stringers and transom rotted decades earlier Check to see if the boat simply had a "deck-over" Deck over defined: Slap plywood over the rotten deck and sell it asap (boating equivalent to 5# of bondo filling in rust at a used car lot)

    No, they are similar. Has to do with a boundary layer. Ask yourself why a golfball has 320 dimples. Or why a baseball has 108 stitches ( and why a batch of rough stitches 10 years ago made pitches faster) Same reason a row boat will want a rough surface
