    I doubt that will work !!---Simple as that.----That will work on say a 1979 model Johnson 6 HP.

    Put 6 - 1/2 drops of fuel ( straight gas will do ) in each spark plug hole.----Put plugs in .---Crank it over to start.----Report what happens.

    Should be able to jump 3/8" ( 1 cm ) with ease.

    Do you push in the key and hold it in while cranking it over ?-----Yes , no or no idea how the primer valve works?----Filter is inside the primer valve.----Remove 4 screws to find it?

    Pushing the key in and holding it in while cranking it over ?----Does electric primer valve click when key is pushed in ?----Checked filter on electric primer valve?

    At one time folks did not like the idea of a big outboard hanging on the back of a boat.-----It was deemed cheap and unreliable.-----The L-drive was a way of hiding the outboard.-----How times have changed !

    Normal sound of the clutch dog I believe.------On the trailer put motor in forward.----Turn propeller clockwise by hand.-----Report what you hear.

    But , but a lower unit does have pressure when motor is running.-----And they do develop pressure if out in the hot sun !!

    Remove motor mounting bolts.----Push motor to one side and see if that helps.
