    Have you ever had to fit the kicker in rough conditions ? I dont even like the idea of trying to refuel a small motor let alone trying to attach it to a transom on the high seas .

    I travel with my aux motor down . I only take it off if Im worried someone will nick it . I do use it for trawling tho ..... goes for hours on a litre of fuel :)

    Really , if all it took was a wee ( cost effective ) dram of sommat to make oil soooooo much better manufacturers would be already putting it in their oil and shouting about the benefits. I might put a bit of zinc into my oil but the stuff I buy already has it. I did once use Morleys oil...

    Gotta take care of your nuts too . To much bouncing around , particularly in boxers is not good . Standing at the helm , feet 18"apart , every time the boat bottoms out gravity gives them a wee tug . An hour or so of that is plenty .

    Well firstly ......you are not going to "blow a hole in the combustion chamber" by giving it to much throttle .....there must have been some other issue . To get on the plane .... trim down and full throttle ( or very near ) and as the boat gets up on the plane trim up and reduce throttle ...

    The Yam will get the best hole shot but the Honda will use half the fuel ......and weigh significantly more. I wouldnt be keen on a hpdi 2 stroke but if its got carbs maybe..........nyaa🤔... Id go for the Honda 😁

    Yep , my main engine is a carbed Honda with screw & lock nut adjustable valves ,basic wiring .....and I catch all the fish I need .😄

    Does it go ? Can you water test or even run it in a tub . I think that if your used to less technical engines (like me ) I d stick with what you know I am no expert on e tech motors but I have heard enough to make me leary specially if they are not your particular can of worms .😁

    Sounds like a power supply issue , possibly a high resistance joint common to both the ignition coil and trim motor. When you operate the trim motor it pulls the supply voltage down to the point that the ignition no longer works properly . A volt drop test is probly the best way to investigate...
