    Post #2 seems to suggest that you need to install a new impeller.----Many folks are not aware that outboards need a new impeller about every 5 years.-----And there are still many sellers that will fire up a motor at the end of the driveway.----No water to cool the impeller !!

    there was a service bulletin in 1994 to move telltale to the top of the block.

    The automatic mixer should be removed and tossed away as far as you can.

    The ---TT---was for tiller models with trim / tilt-----Simple as that.

    A tiller model ???----Just a few clicks and I found the TT models listed for both Johnson and Evinrude.

    It only sounds great on muffs.----They all " bark and roar " even running on 2 of 3 cylinders.----Or a V-6 running on 4 or 5 of 6 sounds wonderful.

    When ever you get a " new to you motor " it needs a new impeller.-----Start with a compression test.----If good , install a new impeller NOW !----I used to troll with a 235 HP V-6.----Sometimes both engines in 6' waves.----Parts and pieces do not know how big a motor they are in.----Trolling...
