The Fish Thief a Great Lakes mystery

All I could find was 3 minute trailers . I am interested because we have similar issues here. Seems to me that we have peeps keen to spend taxpayer money to form committees and talk about the issue , line themselves up for credit but dont actually achieve anything positive .

    M40C Tachometer install weird readings

I can see why an engine could have 2 pulses per rev ( 2 stroke twin wasted spark ) but 4 ? How would you get 4 ? I was thinking tho that maybe it auto ranges if the pulse rate goes out of range for the setting its on . And anyhow dingbat what are you doing reading the instructions :D

    M40C Tachometer install weird readings

yes . if its a bit erratic you could try wrapping a couple more turns around the plug lead . I have hour meters triggered off the plug wire and I also wrapped a bit of insulation tape to sorta bind the pick up wire to the plug lead .

    Weird wiring issue

Sounds like an earthing issue . Check all the negative connections from each load ( vhf , bilge pump , gps , etc ) back to the negative terminal on battery . Ideally all the negs off each load should go to a common point rather than just be attached to an existing neg wire , and then one main...

    Going straight at low speed?

Oh yeah , wanna give us a clue what sort of weight we are talking here :D ? Im 265 lb's, you'd think moving that lot from side to side would turn the boat fast enough to run over the skier being towed

    Going straight at low speed?

Yes ,when on a bicycle or motorbike , when travelling in a straight line its actually a slow weave continually correcting an out of balance situation . If you tried to ride in an actual straight line you'd fall over .

    Going straight at low speed?

I spose its pertinent to mention free play / backlash in the steering system , coz any of that will certainly make things worse . Also there may be some gain by adjusting the trim tab/ anode above and behind the prop . Its my understanding that this cant really be adjusted to suit all speeds...

    prov 150 carb question

Any of the ways mentioned above will do fine . They are not under any stress. When I said about wanting to look at the balls re the poor idle I meant thats where I would look to fix the idle as someone has done , not that I suspect that the sealed in balls are causing an issue now . Sorry...

    prov 150 carb question

Different takes . I usually get a fn small drill , like .75-1.5mm depending on size of your balls (literally ) and drill into the ball about 1/2 way thru then put the shank of the drill in the hole and lever ball out . Do what you have to and then refit the ball hole facing out , maybe...
