    Need Help

Be good to find where the water is coming in. Some boats, the cabin area sits lower than the stern. It can't drain like that. Find out why it sits lower if that's the case. You can install a pump in the area if there is space. I've seen some boats that get loaded up with way to much storage junk...

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

I used to have the grease deal for lubing the front sprocket. Till I found out the hard way. The bearing went out. Found out that the grease actually formed a “dam” around the bearing and some debris was held in there also, causing it to go bad. Without the grease, the oils from the bar can lube...

Chainsaw cutting lube in a pinch

I wouldn't even think of dish soap. It's a cleaner of corse, and will wash away any residual oil. Any other oil works better. But keeping a bucket of real bar oil makes it so much easier.

    Random

Did the same thing. LOL On another note: I worked at a shop and the other tech had just finished a tune up. When he started the car I tossed a firecracker under the car. He immediately shut down and freaked out trying to find the issue. We all had a good laugh when he smelt the powder!

    Polaris hawkeye drive belt rattle.

You said it is under warranty so I think I would have them look at it again. Show them what it’s doing. It would drive me nuts if it’s too loud. They say it’s normal so have them show you with a different machine if that makes noise also.

    Polaris hawkeye drive belt rattle.

My old sportsman rattled a bit. The belt would slap the plastic housing at lower speeds. You could see the marks on the housing. Never had any issues with it otherwise as far as the belt goes though.

    Drainage of the pontoon

I simply put the plugs in dry. Never have water coming out in the fall. You must have leaks. Are your plugs the pipe plug style? Or some kind of screw?

    Need help with my situation

I either put parts washer fluid on the spill or brake clean, scrub a bit and put oil dry on it. Next day sweep up and it’s clean. Not perfect but still good. in my garage I clean that way, and also if it’s really bad, I follow up with dish soap and bleach. Pressure wash and it comes out nice.

    What might be a concern

Good question, what year is it? I've taken 40+year old used motors that sat many years and got them going. It might be ok.

    Clutch Hydraulics, 1989 GMC C1500

Any rubber lines going to it should be replaced also. Being that old, they collapse inside where it cant be seen.

Looking for an independent marine mechanic in central Alberta

Alot of small shops don't advertise. They don't need to, their reputation speaks for them. One here does plenty of business by word of mouth. As suggested ask around your area.

    live well

may as well to drain every drop. Around here you must drain all water before leaving the parking lot to prevent moving invasive species being transferred to other lakes. You can get fined if you get caught.

You are going to have to go through the carbs also. Fuel that bad plugg up more than the filter.
