    Re coating wood/fiberglass decking

you trying to convince us or yourself. we all see this as a bad boat with rot problems. because most of us have been there and worked on them. no one puts a deck over on a good boat.

    Mercruiser 3.0

you dont need a new carb, you need to clean the existing one. however the carb is the least of the problems the oil leaking looks like a pressure switch. that doesnt concern me as much as the rusty crack, which means the motor is damaged. if this bayliner is from the 80's or 90's run as the...

    1984 OMC 200HP compression

being a 305 V8, your compression in all holes should be 150 psi. its not anything about tightening the heads. most likely you have rust in a valve seat. fire it up and check after running it. if that low hole doesnt come up or all of them for that matter, do a leak-down test. you may have...

    Re coating wood/fiberglass decking

Your boat had a "deck over". Basically a crappy patch job to sell it The deck usually rots a decade after the transom and stringers. Boats rot from bottom up. To do it right, you are going to have to pull the interior, pull the motor/drive, pull the cap and cut out the rotten floor, stringers...

yes, the block must be clearanced along the pan rail. you can buy the blocks pre-clearanced for an extra $100 or you can take 20 minutes with a die grinder and clearance the pan rail. unless its a dart block or world product block, all production GM blocks must be clearanced for a stroker crank.

Measure stroke. Stock 350 is 3.48" stroke. 377 or 383 is 3.75" of stroke. 396 is 3.875" of stroke

The drive is stronger than a merc Bravo. You can even add a blower and the drive won't care

    Won’t idle 3.0 Mercruiser

You burnt your motor up by taking it out without doing all the maintenance you do with new to you used boat. You now get to pull the drive and pull the motor. Get the motor on a stand and pull it appart For reference. Cranking compression should be 145-150 in all 4 cylinders.

    Bad Upholstery a Deal Killer?

That boat is a $6000/2 year project before it's safe and useable. And that is with you doing 100% of the work Remember the stringers are equivalent to your spine. Rotten stringers are like a broken back. A bondo buggy car may run and leave you stranded. A rotten hull will sink and may leave...

    Crack found in the block

Unless you pull the drains, the whole water jacket is full. If your motor froze, the manifolds did too as they are also full of water
