    is that 23" at 16 degrees? sin of 74 degrees x 23" = 22" vertical rise if so, with a 4" offset from a jack plate, a 20" leg is what you would want. as for every 4" back, you need to raise up 1". then the jack plate can adjust up or down.

    the SEI unit is made in china the Mercruiser unit is also made in one of many off-shore locations (China, Poland, Mexico, etc.) however mercruiser simply charges more

    So what did you do on the motor? How did you "rebuild" the carbs? Did you do a link-n-sync? What is the compression numbers? What did you goober JB on (because that is never a repair) Have you checked your fuel for contamination?

    Look on eBay for a used drive, or your local dealer. I don't see any damage in the pic. The drives are tough. Are you sure the drive is damaged?
