    4.3 Harmonic Balancer

Just about ever piece of rubber or plastic on a boat goes off a calendar and does not care if the hour meter ever tics over Low hours on a boat means more things go wrong between uses and the boat sits. If you are putting on 50hrs or less a year the boat isn't getting used enough

    Should I winterize my boat?

I live in Bradenton and it freezes here. unless you are living within a mile of the gulf or atlantic, at a minimum drain (assuming I/O without a heat exchanger). for a few of those days, I will throw a 75 watt trouble light in the bilge to keep the raw water side from freezing (half system)...

Coupler pin lock & tow hitch receiver pin lock

I keep my tow bar in the truck at all times. so it has a locking hitch pin. Stainless Reese or Master unit (dont remember) I keep a trailer lock pin (came with the hitch pin) in the truck. use it on occasion along with a trailer ball lock when I drop the trailer.

Electrical charging problems on volvo penta 7.4

a one-wire alternator does not have a reference voltage back to the battery if going thru the diode in an isolator. there is a 0.7-0.9 volt drop across the big diodes in the isolator. so while the alternator sees output of 13.9-14.4 volts and shuts down (wherever the regulator threshold is)...
