    looking at the casting, the bore is a thru-bore and the retention "lip" is the 4 staked areas. that is a cheesy design vs machining a tru lip. however it would save a secondary machining step.

    Did tge neighbord DPS 2 years ago, about 3 times on a stringer400, once on a stringer 800, a few times on a DPA, twice on a Bravo, once on my alpha, twice on my 290DP, a few MC-1s, about 35 or so outboards however been swapping seals on gear boxes for decades. Designed a few gear boxes as well...

    the HX's for Volvo were obtained thru Champ Products in Sarasota Florida, and sold to Volvo USA for the V6 and V8 GM motors. the volvos using the swede build motors were MOTA heat exchangers

    this is the amount of rust I get every outing plugging up a filter screen I added between my thermostat and heat exchanger. this is only from the cylinder heads which did come off a salt-water cooled motor. to this day, I still kick myself for not spending the extra $5-600 and buying new...

    you need new exhaust because your were cracked (post #1) the VP exhaust already flows better than the mercruiser versions. so all you need are BARR or VP replacments you are over-thinking 906 vs 062 vortec heads the closed cooling should only be added to freshwater motors or new motors...

    welcome aboard. a while back I ran across a guy that has his pontoon modified for his wheel chair. the fence was opened up with an electric folding ramp to his dock. two linak LA36 actuators to lift/lower the ramp.. the helm was moved forward about 2 feet to allow him to wheel up behind it...

    they are both GM block. however why do you want to go from about 280hp down to about 220? how big or small is your boat? you may not be able to get the boat on plane are they both carb or are they both fuel injected? or is one carb and one fuel injected? now, if they are both the same fuel...
