    you can pressure test the cooling system yourself. is this a new to you boat? is the motor EFI? got a serial number so we can look up if it has an oil cooler? or better yet, you look to see if you have an oil cooler. if the oil cooler failed, it will pump oil into the raw water stream.

    first, stop using the boat. then pressure test your block/heads most likely you had an over-heat and damaged the head gasket or warped a head do you have an oil cooler (not standard on a 4.3)?

    BTW, after 19 years, you may want to change spark plugs, cap, rotor, and I would look at ordering a new 3-wire ignition module to have on hand when (not if) the ignition module in your distributor goes bad
