Even with a working fume detector, after fueling I ALWAYS open the engine hatches, cabin windows, wait 5 minutes, then go down into the bilge and perform a smell test before starting- just to be absolutely sure!!     Sure, as long as it’s not full. In the past, I’ve gone the whole season without pumping out. My boat has a black water tank gauge; I’m guessing yours dees not?

    I wouldn‘t do toilet bowl cleaner with aluminum- but it works great for cleaning fiberglass. Looks to me like a high pressure power washer with a cleaning solution should do the trick.

    Check the pin and socket connections and clean them carefully. if that doesn’t help, go shopping.

    What percentage of value of motor do you replace? How much to spend on parts motor?

    I use a 45 year old Evinrude 25 and I intend to keep it. Parts and service are necessary to keep any motor functional- old or new! I think Scott said it best: Third, your 55 year old motor will out live many 5 year old 4-strokes that cost 15 times as much as you have in the motor.

    A 6 gallon tank won’t fit?? I find that hard to believe. Wish I could help you. My 1442 fits a steel or plastic one with room to spare, and it also has bracing. I keep an extra tank just forward of the middle bench but don’t feed gas from there.

    Look at my bridge cover. Each pole going thru it has slight gaps but very little, if any, rainwater gets thru. I’ve had this cover for 18 years.

    Tube with 25hp on a 14' tinny

    Unless she’s as thin as Olive Oyl (Popeyes chick), a tube won’t get up on plane. I have a similar rig and couldn’t get an adult up on skis either. If she is ok with plowing around, go for it!

    We had our company truck wrapped a few years ago. No prep was needed but they asked us to wash it before dropping it off. It still looked good after 4 years outside.
