Anyone know how to open/repair this gauge?

Faria voltmeter doesn't respond. How do I open and repair this? It's from a 2000 Bayliner with an automotive-type instrument panel. The gauge twist-locks into the IP. No visible fasteners. Faceplate seems to be glued to the cup.

    Dielectric grease--everywhere?

This. The oem fuse block was a Bussman plastic fantastic of the type you would find at radio shack back in the day. The replacement isn't much better but for sure i won't be keeping it 25 years.

    Dielectric grease--everywhere?

You sure about this? Michigan pretty far from salt. Freshwater boats don't corrode in 25 years? I'm very skeptical about this leap. I've had vintage cars with the same light corrosion in the same locations and I know they haven't been submerged in salt water.

    Dielectric grease--everywhere?

I actually considered using that quote in my subject line but I was afraid most wouldn't 'get it'. Lol

    Dielectric grease--everywhere?

Seems to be used all over the electricals in cars & trucks but I'm not seeing mention of its use on boats. The 2000 bowrider I bought this month has been plagued by some electrical gremlins which I've traced back to corrosion on the fuses and push-on connections to the fuse block. Today I...

Lou I don't see an easy fix here.

    Prop change on my bowrider

I may have wasted some time. I've been nagged that i haven't hit the rev limiter... now that I've verified my engine has one. I dug out my digital timing light and hooked it up to one of the sparkplug wires and started the engine. Boat tach read 900, digital tech read 650. 1500...1150. Pretty...

    A couple more I/O questions...

I have these chunky manifolds. They're 1-piece but they don't look like the "batwing" shape in the photo.

    Prop change on my bowrider

Price played a big part in my decision. I was looking at used props with their dents & dings trying to keep near $200. Then I found the Solas at Great Lakes Skipper for $250--about ½ price. I'm supposed to get the insert kit delivered today but it's getting late in the day... And I have plans...

    Prop change on my bowrider

So the grinding marks that squared-off that edge weren't to remove casting flash, sprue, etc? The INTENT is to take a nice smooth edge and flatten it? I'll leave it as-is but man, it sure doesn't feel right. :-/

So does this ignition module have a rev limiter or did that feature come later?

    A couple more I/O questions...

My 2000 4.3L has a standard carburetor (not tks like I first thought), distributor cap & coil. There's also a black box I'm wondering if it's a rev limiter? Also--what the heck are the 2 plastic tubes for that lead from the valve covers to up near the flame arrestor on the carb? On a car this...

    Prop change on my bowrider

I'll try this Solas 14x21 Even if it changes nothing it sure is purdy. I have a question about the workmanship. Everything looks top-shelf except the trailing edge. There's a slight cupping there I'm sure is intentional but on the edge face there's a wire edge left from some hand grinding on...

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

I find it really odd that a popular model (Capris) of a major manufacturer has a depth sounder that nobody knows anything about. Was this a rare option? It's definitely factory--the switch panel has a factory-printed overlay identifying each switch.

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

I tried again and was able to download the manual. I must have gotten derailed to a spam lookalike site previously. THANK YOU for your assistance with this. 👍👍

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

Thank you! I see that's a UK archive site. The company that made the gauge was located in New Zealand. Maybe that's why I struck out finding it by Googling in the US. Anyways... It's a pay site and the preview is too blurred out to even tell if the download is in English. I've got the manual...

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

Thank you but that's a different model. Hopefully the instructions are similar across various models. The bigger challenge is to figure out how this can be configured via the helm-mounted toggle switch since the D41BD doesn't have its own built-in "↑↓" programming switches.

What is this indicator? (2000 Bayliner)

So I crawled half into the compartment ahead of my helm to get a model number off this depth sounder. It's a Standard Horizon D41BD sounder... and the Internet has no information on it. I called Yaesu, the company that swallowed Standard, and they have no documentation on the old models...
