    What tool is used to remove pivot pins on SX-A?

    There is a "special tool" for that which is basically a press. If you can get a manual it will give the tool number. I have it at home but not with me at the office. Will try to post the tool number later. Not that expensive compared to some of the "special tools".

    Firing order

    I would not think your engine would run at all if the distributor cap was off as much as you believe. I believe your problem may be a slight timing problem but probably more like a bad gas or carb issue.

    You can buy and use aftermarket rotor, cap and wires and use them on your marine engine. Marine grade usually designates it has been designed to reduce external sparks as to avoid bilge explosions.

    Might pull the water intake line at the pump with the muffs on and water flowing to make sure no obstructions in the intake to the pump. Then pull the large water out line from the pump to the thermostat to make sure the thermostat housing is getting adequate flow out from the pump.

    I go ahead and buy one of those cheaper $200 replacement pumps off Amazon or Ebay and use it for the season and plan on rebuilding the original during the off season or when you have more time.

    How to Keep my Outdrive Looking Good

    Not really much that you can do. I usually make it a habit of taking a boat sponge and while in the water wipe down the outdrive. Doing it weekly keeps the finish a little cleaner.

    The stripper I used peeled the paint up quickly and easily. No scraping needed. I think it was made for stripping paint from aluminum though.

    Low Oil Pressure

    I know its obvious but double check the oil level. If you are a quart or two low, your oil pick up may have trouble supplying a steady flow as the boat tilts and rolls. If you do change the oil, and I suggest you do that, measure how much oil comes out and see if it was low.
