    1974 Chieftain 25 "Adventurer" Restoration

Finally added the Adventurer wet bar beneath the mini library! Boat has 3 damn sinks now.. 🤦‍♂️ It's getting out of hand, but it's going to be super convenient too. Also been working on electrical panels, deck boards and whatnot but that's not very exciting. Hoping to have engine compartment...

    BAR 🍸 OPEN

New light, mat, and rocks glasses. Trying to figure out how to store glasses beneath in a secure yet convenient way. Thinking felt lined drawer type setup maybe...🤔

    BAR 🍸 OPEN

Wall mount faucet is a good idea but there's a hole already cut out so it's too late for me 😅 I also def don't prefer broken glass but I can't really sip a fine bourbon anchored at sunset out of a plastic cup in good conscience either so I think I am stuck with at least -some- glassware. Have a...

    BAR 🍸 OPEN

Here's one to get it started. 🍻 Working with a small area, 25W x 14L. This is what I have built so far but want to add glass storage and other items.

    BAR 🍸 OPEN

Hey all, I'm building my mini bar in the old Starcraft cabin cruiser and wanted to start a thread showing various in-boat bar setups/layouts. Please post away, looking for last minute cool ideas to possibly include.. Cheers!

My 1978 Holiday 18 Resto Adventure begins!

The switch from 1/2 (factory) to 5/8 makes a huge difference. Seems like it wouldn't but the 5/8 is a hell of a lot stiffer between the spans, feels way more solid. I chose the same for mine and am very glad I did. That's great that the foam made it!

My 1978 Holiday 18 Resto Adventure begins!

Sweet Holiday, looks great already! Curious what motor you have, good old Merc 165? Looks like you have a great starting point for your project.

This is what I meant by the "spear point" as I described it. I think this style looks great👌

    1974 Chieftain 25 "Adventurer" Restoration

Hey thanks! The railings were a must with the admiral and my dog onboard. Glad I went with aluminum. Crazy light, esp for their strength, and real easy to cut and work with. The hull is alll scratched to hell from a previous life. Guessing they had it moored to a piece of sharp angle iron...

    Anybody know what this is?

Definitely. 🤖 Special star shaped holes to save weight??? 🤣

I think you're both right. Rod holder 7, locked!

Started on the railings. 36" high from the cockpit deck matches the dash height and feels about right. Need to finish trimming the pieces and get it all riveted in place. Going with a center passageway aft and a port side passage to the bow I think. Deck feels roomy.

    Anybody know what this is?

Looks like they were meant to have carriage bolts. The 8 sided star shaped holes would lock in the square portion of the carriage bolt nicely. All holes having the same punch instead of round hole is sometimes just bc it was cheaper to bang out at the factory that way. So my best guess is some...

    1974 Chieftain 25 "Adventurer" Restoration

Weekend progress update. Canceled all white, way too ______. Almost went back to its original 2 tone olive green and white color scheme that was painted over long ago but then decided with the admiral on the 2 tone white and yellow aka 1974 factory "gold" look. Only 1 coat in some places and 2...

Is it only a matter of time for leaks?

Wise words ⬆️ , gotta follow your heart with boats and go for what you really want. Even if it is a bit of a haul it will be better to end up with what you envisioned/dreamed of vs restoring a boat for someone else all just to start over again with the right boat afterwards. I am a prime...

Is it only a matter of time for leaks?

V5 sure would be sweet. Supposed to really shine in heavier chop. I think the overall scale is most important, however. My useless pearl of wisdom is that it is good to be weary of an undersized hull -unless you have the constraints or want for it- like for max fuel efficiency or whatever, in...

Is it only a matter of time for leaks?

Hey well definitely let us know what you decide to do if you go ahead with it. The tin boat members on here are very helpful and love to see another riveted classic come back to life- we'll have your back whichever way you go.
