    Stingray gauge panel refurb

The new gauges go in from the front and have a flat black painted aluminum bezel. I test fitted them but thought it looked boring. So now it turned into a project??..

Smoothed it out and cut around the holes for the new gauges.

    Stingray gauge panel refurb

The old gauges were installed from the back, so I was able to get the face plate out and use it for a template. What we do where I work is a bit complicated but in the end, we build stuff out of plastic, so I got a piece of clear polycarbonate (unbreakable) and made the new plate. I thought...

    Stingray gauge panel refurb

Previous owner epoxied and silicone the gauges to the panel. I guess it did look pretty bad.

    Stingray gauge panel refurb

So, it was time to upgrade to a bigger/heavier boat, and I put my Stingray up for sale. I got a lot of activity at first but no real takers. I spent a lot of time telling folks all about the mechanical things I?ve fixed on the boat. Replaced hydraulic fluid and gear oil every year, etc. Then...

    Bravo sea water pump R&R

impeller replacement from this point was super easy. Although somehow we managed to swap 2 of the bolt locations and changed out a long bolt for a short one which created an interference and couldn't replace the pump in the mount. Took it back out, swapped bolts, all good. For anyone who...

    Bravo sea water pump R&R

A little follow up....... With the help of my 20 y.o. son who is much smaller than me, after a couple of hours, 2 red bulls, and a lot of bad words, we finally got the pump out. What a royal PITA

    Bottom paint removal?

I recently bought my first boat that will stay in the water all season. (May 1-Oct 1). My home waters spawn growth like an alien life form trying to take over the planet, so I am planning on bottom paint. The previous owner had bottom paint and what I believe to be barrier coat below that...

    Forward Bilge/Gas Smell

A little more details Below is a sketch of the cross section of my hull. The elevations are roughly to scale. (autocad) The forward bilge holds liquid, so there is no passage at the bottom if in fact the gas tank were leaking. Except possibly around the sides, but the liquid level would...

    Bravo sea water pump R&R

Does the entire pump have to come out? Or can just the housing be removed? Working on it tomorow. Engine serial 0F153718. 5.7 bravo 1. Fuel pump NOT mounted on water pump. As always thanks for any help.

    Forward Bilge/Gas Smell

I recently purchased a 1995 Rinker Fiesta Vee 265. It has a leaky fuel pump (which is about to be replaced this weekend). The gasoline smell in the cabin is very bad. I know there is a forward bilge pump under the stairs, but how big is the forward bilge? Is it connected to the main bilge...

If winterizing thw "wrong " way-thermostat in or out?

And finally, the stinking drain!!! Looks like it's in good condition which will facilitate removal. It is near the bottom of the pic. Brass. View is almost straight up toward sky.

If winterizing thw "wrong " way-thermostat in or out?

In this photo, I was able to hold my camera very low and get several photos of the pump. I only attached one.

If winterizing thw "wrong " way-thermostat in or out?

No Title Found it all!!! In the first pic above you can see where the middle belt is missing from the water circulation pump pulley. But the view is obstructed to the sea water pump. This tricked me into thinking the sea water pump was missing or had no belt.

If winterizing thw "wrong " way-thermostat in or out?

Just picked up a new to me 1995 Rinker Fiesta Vee 265 with a 5.7 bravo 1. I have a short time table to get her winterized. When looking for drain plugs,....well, I couldn't find drain plugs on the manifolds. And the engine is pretty deep in the compartment, so although I was able to get my...

RESOLVED: Hard start/no start when warm

Getting a late start to my boating season this year. Boat was winterized (fall) and summerized (2 weeks ago) per the adults only thread here on iboats. No problems at summerization, but yesterday, I started her on muffs in driveway. When cold, she started up with zero issues. Got up to temp...

    Can't split gear case

I have a "pre alpha". Can't remember exact MC/MR?. Functions exactly like an alpha. Anyway, I removed it to install impeller and removed all bolts but can't split the housing to get in there. Did i miss a step during disassembly? I'm put some serious effort into it which is usually how i...
