    Leak through transom

I thought the bellows were ruled out, but that's definitely a possibility

Been making my homemade pickles lately! 🤠y

I started doing sweet and spicy pickles. Throw in whatever hot pepper I have in the garden with the pickles, a lot of sugar, and not much salt. A few other spices that seem to be more for ambiance. I modeled them after the kroger brand ones. Going to try to make a spicy pepper sandwich spread...

Diagnose where water is coming from

Also, that looks like far too big a leak to safely run with. Again, that's only with the engine running? If there is a core plug above the engine block drain you could try draining the block and then see if the leak takes longer to get going when you restart (the block would need to fill back up...

    Leak through transom

IMO that's transom rot until proven otherwise. I'd drill some test holes around the area and see what you come up with. Does the leak happen when sitting or only with the engine running?

Diagnose where water is coming from

Doesn't look subtle. Just aft of the starter on the starboard side maybe? Almost looks like from the bellhousing. Core plug? Y-pipe (seems forward of the pipe though). Can't think of any other plumbing around there if truly on the starboard side.

Cannot get outdrive installed to the last 1/2 inch - need your advice!

If you need to hammer your alignment tool to get it to bottom after the gimbal is aligned then your engine is out of alignment. Hopefully it inserted/removed easily after the initial go round

Any reason to fix my wiring kludge?

Yes, I liked the idea of not splicing in any wires, I didn't see a harness readily available, and I'm back on the water the next day. The spark has made a remarkable reappearance.

Any reason to fix my wiring kludge?

My 25 hp '04 2 stroke had a hard time starting, then left me dead in the water. Short story, no spark. Took me a long time to trace it to a partial short in the engine harness connector, which was leaking 3v into the kill switch circuit. Thought it was in the key switch, since I had the box...

    Mercury 25hp throttle/shift cable replacement?

Just a quick update. The part in question is actually #29, and it includes that whole metal arm attached to the throttle cable, bearing in the middle, second metal arm, and the piece in question (the brass pin thing in the middle). Still am not sure how that was initially fastened, but I was...

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

Your boat has apparently been running too well.

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

I've found enough hardware in my bilge over the years to dress a whole other motor. And enough tools to make it happen.

Nope. I like it that way. Then I don't have to worry about people messing it up

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

Edit: unless coupler bolt as mentioned elsewhere... For some reason I was/am thinking that the coupler bolt was sae even on the metric block. I do believe there's an inspection port on the flywheel cover though.

Found bolt in 4.3 bilge. Please help identify

There are about 50 of those bolts on the 4.3. I'd guess flywheel cover, but also accessory mounts, grounds, harnesses, etc. Not critical whatever it is.

Best way to fasten bow rails?

Not cutting foam. Prepared to die on this hill. I REALLY want riv-nuts to work though. How am I fastening the plate?

Best way to fasten bow rails?

Yep, that's my boat. Well, sure Scott, of course I know the correct way to do it ;) Problem is that in addition to the vertical fiberglass behind the bolsters, is that the whole area is foamed in. I'm guessing there's some sort of a wood backer in between the foam and fiberglass, which I'm also...
