    I was only able to get my boat in the water 3 times this season, booooooo, 4.3lx engine and alpha one Gen2 drive. With that little water time, could I get away with out change engine and drive oil before winterizing the engine?

    I thought going dry was the issue, but after it has sat for a few weeks, first pump and I get fuel spraying from the carb. I'll keep trying to find the right combo for start.

    92 4.3LX takes forever to start after sitting. After sitting I can see the carb spraying fuel so I feels like it's getting fuel. I normally give the throttle 3 full pumps, leave at 1/4 throttle and try to turn over. Is 3 pumps too much am I flooding it from the beginning? Any help or insight...

    Thanks guys, it's all put back together. Held air pressure. Fired up and have better water flow out of the exhaust, and the temp peaked out at 160ish, it had been climbing to 170, but never let it get any higher than that. It's an easy repair, just nerve raking to make sure you have a seal...

    Do'h my bad, alpha one Gen 2 from 92. I watched the video on YouTube that was linked in the adults only section ( video was by Chrisa660, is that you? Great videos, super helpful!). In that video they just put the small hole gasket, face plate and large hole gasket on and that's it. Thanks

    Engine temp question

    2-3 seasons ago impeller was changed, probably about 40-60 hours of run time. Usually tops out at 170 while idling, drops 155 when under way, then will creep up once only idle. Figured it was probably the impeller. I guess regardless of run time the impeller looses it effectiveness.

Also running a 92 4.3LX, manual says a 143 thermostat, at idle engine warms up to 170, then holds once I start idling or get on plan temp...

    Bought new AC Delcos. Compared to the NGKs the reach appears the same, but AC Delco overall body is longer. Will probably replace like for like.

    Misread spec chart, spark plug hex size is 5/8", but reach is 12.3mm and and on the champion I believe it's 11.2mm. Is reach the part the goes into the engine block? More curious about that 1 mm difference.
