Looking for a good hangout on the Potomac in Stafford

We launch out of Hope Springs Marina in Stafford and I am looking for a good spot to hang out with a decent beach. Tim's and the other restaurants aren't too far but there are a few too many folks there for my comfort with small kids. Any suggestions around where I launch from? Thanks in advance.

Blown 20A Fuse on Mercruiser 5.0

While cruising, I lost all engine power and electrical systems simultaneously at around 3800 RPMs. I figured out it was a fuse nearest to the battery switch (pictured) and it was a 20A fuse, for which I had a replacement on hand, luckily. I had no issues on the 20 min ride back in. My...

    Engine Bogging Down When Cold

Well, she ran like a champ. Don’t know if it was solely the sensor, the distributor, or the thermostat, but replacing all 3 definitely fixed it. Thanks for all the help, everyone. I’d say you won’t hear from me soon, but I don’t want to jinx myself. Take care and thanks again!

    Engine Bogging Down When Cold

It’s just a short ride from the dock past the no wake zone - hampered the fun. Either way, I’ll let everyone know how it works with the new sensor and thermostat once I get it on the water this weekend.

    Engine Bogging Down When Cold

Replaced the sensor and also replaced the thermostat while I was at it. It has not been able to get up to operating temp all summer and now I know why - that thermostat was stuck open despot it being my 2nd time replacing it. Got it up to temp in the driveway and plan to do a water test asap...

It has done both in the past. Yesterdays was relatively flat until it reached full power.

    Engine Bogging Down When Cold

The past two times I’ve been on the water, my 5.0 MPI won’t get full power until it has been run for a while. Once it gets warm it will run perfectly all day, but that initial few minutes that it doesn’t get full power is nerve racking. Any ideas what I should look at first to try and fix this...

    SC1000 Working Sporadically

Got it. That seems pretty doable and is better than $400. Ordering a DIY kit from GaugeSaver as we speak. I’ll update as I go along and thank you!

    SC1000 Working Sporadically

I have a 2007 Sea Ray and my SC1000 Tach worked well for a while. It then became a bit spotty and would only work occasionally but now I can’t get it on at all. The tach works but the smart readings won’t come on at all. The light appears to work, but the LCD screen isn’t showing anything at...

Mercruiser 5.0 Won’t Reach Operating Temp

Update Update: solved it! My pump had deterioration on the other side, as well. I had the right part for a good pump, but once they get beat up a little bit you need a separate impeller kit. The part number is 47-8M0137219 and it comes with a wear plate for the inside of the pump, as well...
