    Sloppy hole shot???? I don't think so. Looks pretty fast to me and MPH are right up there looking at your chine spray pattern and the distance of the transom convergence behind the boat. Looks like setup as in your picture, you have the best of both worlds.

    Torque spec for my 90 Merc was 150# as I recall. As others have said, it needs to be tight to protect the Woodruff key (engine timing). I don't know what your 55 spec is but I'd put at least 100# on it if it were mine, not knowing the exact value.

    If you are talking about a Crestliner (brand) Fish Hawk (model) and it is like my 2002 the vent is part of the fill port. When you pull the fuel filler cap off and look down in the hole there is the large fill hole and on the side a small vent hole. Does the fuel gauge register full?
