    I dont like waisting stuff but for the price of an impeller and if your already in there Id stick a new one in it . The key shouldnt dislodge after assembly but you do gotta watch that it stays in place during assembly ....anything sticky like a lump of soap or even grease to stick it in place...

    Yeah I like pokin around with the scans 🙂 I would look at a few you tube vids on how to interpret what the scan shows ....how to recognise shadows and what they can tell you and how to physically locate stuff off the scan ....inc fish . I found them quite helpful because trying to nut it out...

    I usually only have one side going at a time ...the side to the shore but its nearly always half the screen . If Im on a lake I usually dont bother with the gps ....but then our lakes are pretty small compared to some of yours . Mostly one side and down scan on lakes . Sea ...I use the plotter...

    Yeah Im thinkin the engine seems to loose power (and revs ) at the same time the tach climbs up ...and its unlikely the two are not connected ...I dont know what triggers the tach but it seems like something is messing with the ignition timing causing loss of power and also making the tach tell...

    The engine rpm's are not rising when the gauge sez that they are....apart from that ...beats me . You'd have to think that it might be an ecu/ignition issue

    Impeller stuck on drive rod, got hot and melted the impeller a little.

    I wonder if the impeller has sorta seized in the pump housing and then spun on the shaft jamming up on the key 🤔....maybe....just a thought 🙂🙂

    Yep , these two books are gold for me ,probly had them 30 years , and while they are weber they are pertinent to all carbs in as much as the theory and basic operation is the same. Good diagrams ,Well worth a read .🙂

    Ah ,I dunno 🙂 Honestly I think one of the biggest frustration issues with carbs is peeps believing they have been completely cleaned when they have not and /or not fully understanding how they work.......and peeps that cant resist having a fiddle .🙂🙂
