    I had good luck with Barr & would use them again. I’d use a thread chaser rather than a tap to clean all the threads including in your cylinder heads. The flatness of the sealing surfaces has to be checked with a straight edge & feeler gauges less than .003” variation.

    I really think that thick 4 hole one is for vintage GM automotive intakes that used the 4 hole spread bore manifold. Doesn’t make sense on the open plenum design of the GM marine intake.
