    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Hoping this weekend I can get the middle section of the railing installed, and then some load testing. I have a few weeks before my father-in-law is planning to head over in order to start tearing into the boat. Once i have the engine pulled, I'm planning to do some assessment of the boat...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Pictures of it soon, but I have two of the two wall mounted unistruts installed, before installation I ground off the galvanizing at the top. I'm planning to do a couple plug welds on the side of a bracket when I'm happy with the adjustments. I have a pair of these on order...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

once I get around to tackling this task, I also still have a stripped 5.3 cast iron engine block and crank. I'll do a rough load test before I try pulling anything over the boat.

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Right now I'm thinking I want to try the same "under the garage door when opened" idea. That would also allow me to install some lights for when I'm not hoisting things. Researching it seems like the 12ga unistrut that's sold at homedepot (super strut) can handle over 1000lbs w/o being...

LED light device in battery compartment

Man, you're so new you can actually see up to date information on your boat on the starcraft website! I thought having a 1994 was pretty sweet, my other big boat is a 1963. :ROFLMAO: nearly 0 information on it! I had to search the boat for curiosity's sake, nice...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

I'm planning to buy a nice long uni strut for the garage ceeling to use with the engine removal tasks. I'm figuring it will be difficult to get the boat in the garage just perfect for engine removal and installation tasks. So i'm thinking about using some uni-strut to give me some side to side...

    '66 Sunchief. Layout ideas.

Most of us use the closed cell foam from the local hardware stores. Not the white foam! Most like to lay it on top of the ribs, leaving a nice air gap for draining water. I left a very tight gap in the Chief, opting for maximum floatation foam, plus i deleted a little from the front...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

Right?! Luckily the seller was a good person.

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

And while I'm on the subject. I need to get some images of the controller thats in this boat. One issue I had with the controller is that the idle/rev up isn't working. Like there should be a disconnect for the shift allowing me to throttle up during starting. Messing around with-it last year I...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Tossing this in here so I can find it later, I also put it in the craigs list thread, but not the full AD. Edited to remove the seller's son's face, and his contact information. For my records, I believe paid $7200 for it as "turn-key" then refunded some of that money, making it $3800 once...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

and on that note, here is the ad that I saved for my 221. I blurred the guys son's face. Sold to me for $7200, but then later further refunded money once I found the engine block was cracked. Watch out for those *leaky rivets*, this was a hard catch! If he tried to cover it up via an oil...

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

There was an IO Chieftain for sale here for a bit, I expect to see it pop back up when it starts warming up. He was asking on the north side of $2500 if I remember correctly. I assume he might be willing to drop the price later down the road, and I believe I have seen the same boat for sale on...

Riveting question about riveting decking to ribs. Same holes or new holes?

Assuming we are talking about the ribbing that's riveted directly to the Hull/sheeting. Those I did my best to re-use holes, but it's not going to hurt anything if you need to make new ones. In some places I did my best to use the same holes, but if it didn't look right i might add a second one...

To me that looks like it's asking to be a center console. The front section you could make into storage for fishing gear, jackets, etc. I have been watching the Haulover outlet YouTube channel before bed for the past few weeks on the big tv. Seeing some of the different layouts is eye...

Looks like he has two throttles for that thing, and I see a kicker. I bet its setup to control the kicker from the front.

I wouldn't give that space a second thought if it were me. as long as it's engaged nice and solid, I would assume it's especially good if it's not rubbing!

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Another thing was the speedometer. The seller told me that everything worked except that when I was looking at the boat. I had a theory that the hose might have been pinched when he had the outdrive off for the bellows. So in my spare time I watched a few youtube videos related to the outdrive...

    I'm back with a 1994 Islander 221V!

Starting to get a little warmer, and my eyes are wandering to the boat more and more. One thing I still need to do is to install the new swim platform ladder. I have plans to remove that platform here within the next few weeks. For the new ladder, it has an under platform mounting setup. To...
