I don't, But I've moved on from thinking it's an electrical problem because I can't turn the engine by hand.

Okay thanks for corroborating, that was the only thing I was unsure of is if that voltage drop could be because the starter is drawing so much power against a seizing engine. I've been slowly getting it apart just kind of taking tips as I go lol

I do get a voltage drop when the starter cranks at the solenoid and at the starter. But I can't turn the engine by hand anyway that's why I'm leaning towards internal damage. And those cables were just fine the day before all this happened

Welp. Disregard those, I don't really know anything about an engine I guess that's just the position the Pistons were in when I shut the engine off. Took the other side off and same thing so I turned the engine over a little bit and I see they move. All of the valves are moving properly on both...

Ok took the port valve cover off. I don't see water and oil looks good . I don't know how to tell if valves are bent , bad or whatever, but they all have movement, but these two. They all have a little movement but these don't move at all.

Oh ok, so need to know the configuration of the main harness? I guess that's what runs to the dash? So I would need to know if it's one of those 2 configurations, so any 350 V8 out of a truck would be one of those 2, and I just need to make sure it fits my plug? And I didnt know there was...

Ok. So I guess I'm going to start working on trying to find a new engine, And plan for eventually replacing it. But just out of curiosity on compatibility, if I were to find something like this , which looks like it's a complete drop in engine with all of the accessories , hoses, cables etc...

Here are a couple pictures from inside of my spark plug hole.. is that yellow stuff rust? I did spray WD-40 in all of the spark plug holes. And should those be in that position?

Oh and if I am able to do this, can change into one that's fuel injected? Or will that give me a bunch of incompatible headaches?

It is a 1997, 5.7L V8 , 2bbl, 350 , 260hp. I think that's a small block? What exactly would I need to know from the donor engine if it will work? I know I can get the failed engine out and bolt on All of the mercruiser parts necessary to the donor engine, except for I'm reading it would...

Okay I really appreciate you guys helping me diagnose this, I was completely stumped, and since I don't know much about the guts of an engine I figured something was going on beyond my ability. I'm coming to terms that I likely need to replace the motor.. It's lasted me for 15 years and...

Yes i haven't. I googled how to do that, I see ppl removing the short bolts, and then putting long bolts in the harmonic balancer, to wedge a pry bar in between and crank it? If so , how do I know what bolt to put in there, take one of them out and take it to to a hardware store?

1997 5.7L thunderbolt ignition. Slow crank

Yes I've already pulled the drive. The only thing I see that is concerning, is one of the two black o-rings is missing on the drive shaft is missing , and the orange one at the that goes into the engine coupler looks like it was stretched and maybe twisted, I don't know if that's just from...

1997 5.7L thunderbolt ignition. Slow crank

Ok. So the boat is not worth a 10k+ motor replacement, I'm reading a 350 "yard block" and switching all my Marine parts onto it would work. I can pull the motor and put it back in, but how do I know exactly what to get? Like how do I know the motor mounts would be in the same place for...

But if it's turning with the starter, ( although slowly) I would imagine I should be able to turn it by hand to some degree. Just don't really know what to be looking for or what to do if it's turning by hand, but kind of hard. It's obviously not completely seized up, It cranks at a steady...
