On my 24' twin tube pontoon with my new 115 ct merc,, they put a 4 blade 14x14 on it...max rpm was 5800 but with teen age tubers and others on board, especially when turning....My rpm's would drop to 5200+/-.... So, I stuck a 3 blade, 16x12 on...

    my calculations say 3.5 hrs per leg. I ran fuel burn/rpm/mph test last year on a calm lake....tabulated it...and have it on my boat. I have smartcraft tach and gps speeds. Fuel burn was confirmed... sorry, this was the full response...my wifi kicked off after typing and wouldn't load...

    FWIW... When I replaced my Merc 60 hp 4 stroke with a 115hp 4 stoke on my 24' pontoon ( which the placard said is max) ...it was noticeable. The pontoon has 25" diameter toons also..... The bigger issue was the bounce at the transom when trailering....significantly so that I now use a transom...

    that boat is only 16' long not only does the placard list max hp, it also implies a max motor weight limit. So a 2 cycle,70 hp johnson weighs 250lbs. A 75 hp 2000 model 2 cycle can't weigh much more. 4 cycle motors weigh more in comparison. How much does that 90 weigh......just stuff to consider...

    this is what I installed...I did not install the speedometer.... additional sensors are needed to get all the data available, which I didn't install. I don't have: tilt, outside water or air temp, no gps, no oil temp, a few others I can't remember.....
