    I used an angle grinder with a sanding cylinder. The Mercruiser jig uses a hole saw. We will find out if my reliefs are big enough in a few weeks when I go to install the gimbal housing. If not...more grinding to make the reliefs big enough, then glass and gelcoat to seal it back up.

    I'm pretty sure I troweled PB onto both the boat and the transom. I used a plastic v-notch trowel with 1/4" notches that I got for a few bucks on Amazon. Not sure how much PB...maybe three 17 oz batches? I know my wife made a few.

    Got it all back together. Managed to scratch the paint some while wrangling the bell housing back on. My boat has thru-hull exhaust, so no exhaust bellows to worry about. But still...lots of hose clamps and reaching into tiny cracks to get it all back together...glad to be done with it.

    They didn't use glass because they didnt build the boat to last. Adding glass will be a superior repair.
