Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

It also says that a boat of this size needs floatation even though I don’t think it ever had it. I think stuff does get grandfathered just like cars safety systems. This doesn’t mean I’m not looking for a solution but I haven’t found what I need yet

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

I don’t like it either but a marine battery box does not have clearance where it is. The only thing I could do is put in a universal hotrod type battery hold down screwed to the floor. But it’s a 66 so i don’t know as all the regs were in place then

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

The battery jumps around going down the road and there is no place for a hold down under the splash well But I might just have to do it on the side of the road

    Lifting plastic trailer fenders?

Hankook Vantra should be available in that size. Which are a quality option as well. But you possibly could use spacers to raise them

Towing over rough terrain with outboard down?

I’m going to move my boat to my girlfriends. Which has a 1/4 mile un paved driveway. I tow with the motor down and about 8” of ground clearance to the skeg. It tows perfectly like that. Think it’s safe to bring that over a bumpy driveway with a steep entrance where it drops in? I tow with the...

    Emergency (backup) trolling motor...

A little Hangkai 3.5hp would make a good emergency motor. They start easy and run okay. I paid $160 for the one I have. The clutch is weak but it will get you home

89 centry palimino with a 3.7 mercruser charging issue.

There are some solid state regulators for vintage external ford applications that would work. Their pin out is on the connector usually. Solid state is very important as if it’s not, it uses a few sets of points which would be a source of ignition

    Crazy powerhead swap

You could have an exhaust housing adapter made and extend the drive shaft but the lower won’t take it. If you are planning on using a 40hp lower then you are swapping the mid too. So Just have 30hp decals made for a 40.

    Modern Engine Thoughts

Hit a rock with any outboard and your going to do some damage. My Zuki came with a set of tools and it takes 5w30 synthetic automotive oil. Facts are Etec was 2 strokes last straw. And this whole thing has nothing to do with the original question.

    Modern Engine Thoughts

I don't think oil changes is a valid comparison since a 2 stroke burns it's oil. An E tec has oil metering as well as fuel injection making it more complex in a small margin. But people don't even realize that a fuel injected outboard often has a chamber where the high pressure fuel pump is...
