    when i purchased new vortec ,they had mentioned that all externals should match up ,motor that was pulled is non vortec ,also should there be a ring gasket where dipstick tube enters pan, i know the bolt plays alot in keeping the tube secure and down in pan, but just seemed like oil would seep...

    pulled my 5.0l with cast iron intake manifold and replacing with 5.7 vortec with edelbrock aluminum intake manifold ,my boat is 1988 thompson 240 hard top on trailer the aft of boat iis around 6 feet ,so have to clear that .Had no problem taking out old motor ,but the aluminum intake has got me...
