    Back again

Saltwater is for sure where an OB shines. Manifolds/ risers were they can last a boat's lifetime in freshwater, become wear maintenance items in salt water. I actually bought my 14' Starcraft Holiday for the same reasons you want an OB except the part about saltwater. I can trailer it...

    Back again

I think the biggest thing is going in with open eyes.. The boat in question is going to be a reliable boat if it has been maintained correctly, it's likely a Mercruiser 3.0L. Not a powerhouse but decent. Not built with the best materials but a fairly recent build..With the right discount/ deal...

    Back again

I know Bondo's view, and I agree they are a cheap boat. But by 2017 they are mostly composite if not all composite construction, and if you can get one at the right price, it can be a good boat.

17' I/O is going to be smallish but a 2017 Bayliner IS a nice boat if you get it for the right price

Not complicated at all. But it gets expensive

    Junk Starcraft arrow

Add the cost of a trailer in too, which is $800-$1,200 if your buying new

    Junk Starcraft arrow

I love Starcraft, even having the sister boat to that myself, a Holiday 14. However the Arrow is a 14 foot fiberglass. It will be an expensive repair that will be basically worthless and outgrown quickly.. I have an Offshore V 18 as well. I bought the Holiday to be more portable, otherwise a...

    1988 Mastercraft prostar $7,800

direct drive inboards are used in wake boats, pretty much or much larger boats. If you want a competition wake, then it has all the advantages. Otherwise the drive system is just cheaper to repair. This is also why they basically are never seen anymore, outside of pulling skiers ect... Ford...

What to look for in a project boat? Plus a few other questions

wooden deck, and generally they are riveted in place, but some use self tapping screws. The 'brackets' are the ribs and framework which are there when the boat is built

What to look for in a project boat? Plus a few other questions

You generally don't weld on an aluminum boat that is built. If it needs welding, it's got problems. Leaking rivets can be re bucked and then sealed with Gluvit or even 5200. depends on how far you want to go.. Transoms and decks are easier on tin boats, but generally they are not as water tight.

    Attention Delta Faucet Owners

I have all 3 brands in my house, and all 3 have been warrantied at least once.. PF sent the wrong side cartridge for my kitchen sink, so the hot side turns backwards, but whatever off is still off

Looking for windshield hardware 1963 Starcraft star

Taylor made similar ones that will work at least a few years ago were still available. Fiberglassics had a source for them listed but they are $$$. You could have some machined out of billet fairly easy if you find a CNC shop

    Starfire

Mercruiser 888 was a Ford 302 in the 70's.. Many of the Ford specific parts are NLA, but most of the entire drive is still available.. Looks like the Apollo Starfire was a run of the mill 1970's speed boat.. You might find better boats with outboards where that type of boat was more popular

    OEM or Aftermarket

My rule of thumb is, if the job is 'involved', then it's OEM only. If your thinking about a carb kit, then Sierra is probably fine. If something does happen, you don't have to dig very far to fix the problem.

    1997 Evinrude 4hp tuning help

I have the manual for a 1994 which is a very similar motor, but I have to locate it again. However the knob is marked on and off. The way the hoses are routed, which are as original except the pulse line which is plugged seem to suggest it is an on/ off

    19?? Starcraft Jetstar

What are my options for mounting a kicker motor, that can be remote steered? I know the Atwood bracket is $20 and if the kicker was hanging on the transom, I could make it work, but the kicker bracket complicates it a bit.. Wondering if a kicker can sit that close to the motor if the bracket...

    1997 Evinrude 4hp tuning help

I would like both options to work, but I'm starting to think the carb will prevent the portable from working. As long as the internal works I can go fishing.

    1997 Evinrude 4hp tuning help

The carb that is on there now ( '86 4hp carb ) has 2 nipples but is otherwise the same as the original. The third small nipple went to a pulse line from the crankcase. I plugged that line and the engine runs fine. The rotating valve is just a gas shutoff, according to the diagram on the...
