    the design and function is rather simple so whatever happened to create all this grief, "bending" and need for replacement parts. by the looks of those parts I can't say that motor as given lots of TLC and grease :-(

    I am familiar with it... just not to clear on what you need here the knob limits the travel of the round grooved push rod which limits how low the idle rpms will run...before konking out as you turn the knob the tiller handle will rotate it does not create any tension on the tiller back...

    don't give up... I had a small 4hp driving me nuts last winter ended up into a Murphy scenario ...bad condenser, coil, plug but the exact combination remains a mystery ... :-)

    if compression is ok check spark intensity in open air ....and clean the carb again check inlet needle if sticking perform blow test after cleaning the carb

    probably if you need $250 worth of wire. see my link above at 69 cents a foot .... ask NAPA if they sell by the foot ... don't worry to much about this ............. 7mm wire core will do by Ohm's law the high voltage point will be in the air gap on the plug so 18 inches of metallic...

    maybe just the view angle.. but I don't see the oiler wick on the magneto plate... it should b attached with the oiler clip under the coil

    the diagram is for a smaller motor like the JW's for your 6hp just put your throttle handle to the START position then line up the cam roller and cam markings has describded for the JW

    why would a presumed «"crack" in a tank cause air to be sucked in the carbs ? Fuel tanks need air to break the negative pressure build, up hence the need for "vents" to replenish the "air space" of missing fuel pulled up by the pump. pumping the fuel bulb hard to fill the carbs...

    did you measure the white wire ohms resistance with the frame... if it is connected properly (0 ohms) don'T worry where it goes....
