    Been a little cold.

I have always wanted a summer place in the UP of Mich, then a winter place in the south, so I could keep from freezing in winter and out of severe heat in the summer.....wishfull thinking it seems !

    Lowe 185 Ski & Fish with Verado 150 – bow won’t lift

Move some weight out off the bow, check for water live free foam in the bow. Is there a hook or a curve in the keel ? Cab plate looks a little high but not enough to cause an issue. Will the motor trim out further than shown in the last pic ( leg further away from the transom) ?

    SNOW Common Sense

I have owned a snowblower since the 1978 blizzard...never have I had a clog that would not unclog itself by just backing up. Yes I do spray everything with some slickery stuff......NEVER have I even thought about sticking my hand in there ! Just shows " you can't fix stupid"....

    Lowe 185 Ski & Fish with Verado 150 – bow won’t lift

I have used this setup for 60 years and it has always worked well. Trim the motor until the cav plate is parallel the the hull. Use a long straight edge to come off your hull and adjust until cav plate is parallel. Now measure the cav plate....is it above or below or even with the bottom...

    90 Mercury 40HP motor

Due to the popularity of walleye and Perch fishing, boating is extremely popular in my area. We have no issues finding people to work on two strokes. Most of the bigger marina's stay with the bigger four strokes but plenty of smaller service places to get your two stroke serviced as there is a...

    90 Mercury 40HP motor

I have the 1992 version of this outboard, oil injected and never an issue. Yes the magnet came off the float in the oil reservoir so that alarm is dissabled, but I simply top off the oil tank when I fill my 18 gallon fuel tank. As far as parts go, no problem, local marina/ parts depot has...

    LiFePO Batteries ???

I also Put my look battery in the house for the winter. TimeUSB recommended cycling the battery every three months while not being used. Easy enough to charge it up, let it set a few days then discharge back down to 50% with the BMS. Just finished my cycle last week. Next time should be...

    Been a little cold.

We are now in the 40-50's and possible 60's in the coming weeks. Snow melting fast, but now we will have a very sloppy muddy mess to deal with. I don't mind snow as long as it isn't extreme as a have toys to handle the snow. Haven't had enough snow to use them in the past three winters, so...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Not everyone that runs the county offices are great thinkers. My folks were looking for a property in Fla to build on for retirement. They found a lot created by three streets coming together to form a sort of triangle shape. A minimum of 12500 sq ft was required to build on and the county...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Can depend on where you live and how well you read the rules. Years back I built a deck on my home. As long as it was elevated and not enclosed it could extend over a corner of my leach field. Years later I added a roof because it was allowed on previous built decks under a grandfather rule...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Been thru the political mess myself when my barn was built. Read all the required rules yourself and compare them to your state codes as in most cases local codes can't overide state codes....one thing to consider is adding a lean to type roof to the barn side, I did that here and when the...

Thinking about making a trailer cover... Opinions wanted.

Lots of pro's and con's to a cover.....needs to be waterproof yet needs to breath or it causes mold. Wrestled with this for years. Best solution I have found is a pole barn !! Even a portable structure is better than a poor boat cover. Look at the ribbed panel structures, no footer required...
