    Seafoam vs. Marine Pro Seafoam

Sure there is.....how many mechanics will just clean out your motor with SeaFoam, then charge you 150 bucks for " service" ?? The mechanic used the same can as you or I, but charged you for adding it to the gas. My old retired mechanic friend admits to doing that on a few ocassions in his...

    Solar charging batteries

Contact the manufacturer anyway, if reputable they will help you out, even with instructions on how to fix your issue. One of the reasons I choose the brand I have, is due to service after the sale and after the warrant expired.. Some folks have said the mfgr helped them even after the warranty...

    Nobody fishing?

Same here in Ohio, fished for catfish and perch, got my first boat at 13 and started serious perch fishing. The old guy at the fish cleaners took me under his wing and taught me how to fillet them. 75 years later and they are still number one on my list !!

I was just four months old

We complain about our children watching the internet and their phones, while getting brainwashed.....so what is modern day TV doing to we adults? TV is really bad nowadays, barely anything worth watching. For me, the outdoor channels from Alaska and others is all I watch. Regular TV shows have...

    Nobody fishing?

Perch might be a boring fish to catch, but they are just so good to eat ! My family can't get enough of them. Here in the great lakes we have many species to fish for, most are excellent table fare but some are more for sport. I do a little sport fishing for fun, Mabry one day, I will land...

    85hp Merc?

Grew up during late 50-60's era outboard motors, not sure I would go back that far for another motor, but I have been very impressed with my 1992 Merc 40 classic. Care and maintenance is everything and I found a good one. One of the smoothest running motors I have ever owned and can't believe...

Silliest Question on Fuel Mix - Thank you for your patience

You and I would get into a lot of trouble, however when you live out in the country as I do, you can see the county doing it all the time. They also use old motor oil and ATF mixed together to treat wood on trailer decks and as markers along parking areas. Today they only care where there is...

1978 Johnson 140hp running rough. Need advice

I would never use premium fuel if the mfgr recommends regular grade. Doing so can make your engine less powerful as premium fuel burns slower. Numerous studies have shown this, if your engine actually runs better, then you have issues besides fuel.

Silliest Question on Fuel Mix - Thank you for your patience

Anyone that thinks they are saving this planet by cutting back on their two stroke oul, needs a reality check. The amount of oil based products, spilled, wasted or intentionally put into the ground and atmosphere are so great, that two stroke oil pollution is a mere drop in an entire ship load...

    Transom saver or no?

Most savers that I have seen, have a spring loaded or a snubber that has some give under severe stress, yet keeps motor from flopping around. you don't want the motor to flop up and down, yet some kind of give or control in a severe situation. It is the constant flopping up and down that causes...

Silliest Question on Fuel Mix - Thank you for your patience

My container says Pennzoil marine TCW-3 meets all mfgr requirements for tcw3 oils and suitable for use in air cooled two stroke engines. I have one container that states syn blend and another container that looks identical but no syn blend statement.....actually never paid that much attention...

    Transom saver or no?

This could be argued until the end of time....bottom line is, if your worried about transom weakness then buy a transom saver, if you think your motor mount is solid, then take the gamble. No one can make you decide, your boat....

Silliest Question on Fuel Mix - Thank you for your patience

Actually been using Pennzoil marine two stroke oil for about as long as I can remember. Mfgr says it can be used in both air and water cooled engines which I have done with O issues. BP had a coupon for the quicksilver stuff so I bought some. Looks exactly the same even though that may mean...
