    250 Yamaha SHO Speed

I tried to find your model at Yams website. Could not find your exact boat. From what I can see from looking at the PB's, 40 MPH does not seem unreasonable but it depends upon the atmospheric pressure (motors make more or less HP depending upon the weather) and the weight of the boat...

    yamaha 6y5t gauge hook up

Sounds like you might have a 703 side mount control box. You did not say what you have. If you simply follow what the diagram shows you will have no problem. Four single colour coded wires (one of which is not used) with bullet connectors and one four pin connector. Pretty difficult but some...

If you cannot understand that diagram then the motor needs to be taken to a mechanic that knows Yamaha outboard motors.

    Yamaha 70B too much Autolube

3.80cm3 for each of the three cylinders? Was the oil pump lever in the full throttle position? Seems excessive. Have you thought about doing a 9 minute test for more accurate results? Were you using Yamalube?

    General MAP sensor question

It might. ECU thinks there is a lot of air in the intake manifold. Adds too much fuel trying to get the fuel/air ratio correct.

    Yamaha 200HP Ignition Switch Replacement

Well now I am confused. The 703 control box has an integrated key switch. And kill switch. Your photo shows a standalone key switch panel.

    yamaha 6y5t gauge hook up

No. There are two kinds of tachometers. Analog and digital. Analog uses the ivory coloured four pin connector with four wires. Digital uses the while coloured two pin connector with two wires. Either type will work with your motor. Just depends upon what you want to do. You mentioned the 6Y5...

    yamaha 6y5t gauge hook up

The bright white connector with a cap on it, with but two wires, is not used with a 6Y5 tachometer.

    Yamaha 200HP Ignition Switch Replacement

The push to choke key switch assembly will work just fine with your motor. Are you looking for just the key switch or the key switch panel assembly? I am guessing that you have a top mounted 704 control box. Why would you want a 703 prefix switch assembly that is designed for the 703 side...
