    Identifying a 75hp 2stroke (i think) 2005 with missing model number (and it won't start )

I would think it would work just fine, but who am I to say. any 12 volt start relay/ solenoid that can carry high current should work. maybe someone put something in there that was not original, so the numbers do not match up.

    '98 115 Yamaha runs hot if over 4,000 RPM's

inspect the plugs to see if any cylinder is running different than the others. as said if you did not find any parts of the impellor missing to plug up cooling passages, I would drop the lower unit and run some Rydlyme marine descaler thru the motor for a couple of hours to see if that helps.

Fresh water corrosion and anode choices…

you seem to have missed the part about stray current mentiond. that can eat up metal quickly.

    2002 Suzuki df70 overheating

yes pieces of the impellor can plug up passages, causing over heat. you can try dropping the lower unit and pulling the stat out and hooking a water hose directly to the pipe up to the power head and injecting compressed air into that also as you try flushing things out. but you may have to...

    Yamaha sluggish acceleration

Yamaha 90 2 Stroke No Spark

re reading yu posts, all I can think of is you have a bad connection somewhere or a short to ground on the kill wire, kill switch or key switch. there are no 2010 2 strokes here ,so not much we can look at seems you moved something around that caused the spark to show back up. I would be...

    Lower unit leak

the drain a vent screws have gaskets that should be replaced. and then retighten the screws after running the motor on the water just to be sure they are still tight. the gaskets crush down and will leak some times after putting new ones on.

    Lower unit leak

remove the drain screw from the lower unit to check for water , get a little on your finger, and smell the lube while you are doing that. then smell the oil for the power head.

    Lower unit leak

did you smell it to see if it was lower unit lube or oil from the power head?

Yamaha 90 2 Stroke No Spark

might try looking here https://www.cdielectronics.com/support/ if not the switches then maybe the wiring has a intermittent grounding of the wire that kills the spark I have never tried taking AC voltage readings ,so I have no idea how that would compare to specs

    2008 90TRL need more power!

yeah, I would like to be able to find all those old 2 stroke performance Bulletins myself. I have no idea what they did with all of those we use to be able to look at.

    2008 90TRL need more power!

did it hit the speeds listed on the performance Bulletin? I just looked and that one you posted showed a F90TLR. And it would run 41.2 MPH at 5900 RPM. is that what the 13 pitch does?

    2008 90TRL need more power!

very strange that you had to drop down to a 13 pitch if the performance bulletin showed an 18. you need to find out if the motor has a problem or if boat does. See if any of the shops around you have a test prop for that motor. they should be able to test it in a tank to see if the motor will...
