I'm looking at a motor tomorrow. A early 80's 35HP Johnson.(I don't know exact year yet)
I currently have a 1987 30HP Johnson.
I am wondering about the difference in the 2 motors. Correct/Inform me please.

In the picture attached which shows the wiring that goes from the motor to the controls
on a 1987 Johnson 30HP electric start
The big Red wire is of course Positive
The Yellow/Red wire goes to the solenoid for starting
The Purple/White wire goes to the Primer
The 2 Black wires are for the Kill...
A little help from someone familiar with these remote control cables. My Box and cables are from a 1968 boat and I want to connect them to a 1986 motor. I have already attached the throttle cable and will be able to attach the shift cable no problem but I have one issue I'm wondering about...
