    HVAC Run Capacitor Sizing

Locally, most/all of the trade houses will not sale parts to people off the street. I have accounts for the farm at a couple of B&T, electric and plumbing suppliers but nothing specializing in HVAC. Fortunate that I know a couple of electricians that can get parts for me

What is your worst day on the water?

Back in the young and dumb days. Buddy had a17’ tri-hull with a 100 hp Merc on the back. Followed the charter fleet to a hot bite about 30 miles down range We’re happening. Catching fish, high fives amongst the crew. Then we noticed we were the only boat left in the area. Figured they caught...

98 MASTERCRAFT SAM DUVALL EDITION- 2 CANISTER FUEL FILTERS?

People tend to change the inexpensive stick, rock and hose liner (neglected fuel line) catching filters annually. They neglect the expensive, 10 micron separating filters doing all the work. Often just dumping out contaminates and reusing the filter.

    Non-skid for aluminum floors

Works good on that type of stuff. Use it as a floor mat in the back of the F150 and a cargo mat in the Mrs. Dingbat’s Mazda

    Non-skid for aluminum floors

    Hull cleaning

Hard to say. It’s an acid. The solution increases in strength as the water evaporates. Allowing it to dry on a surface is just asking for problems.

    Hull cleaning

If it’s chalking, you’re not diluted it enough and/or you’re leaving it on the surface too long. I water it down to 4% solution. Wet the trailer down before application to prevent staining the trailer Hose the trailer down first to protect the finish, then apply the cleaner with a garden...

98 MASTERCRAFT SAM DUVALL EDITION- 2 CANISTER FUEL FILTERS?

Injectors typically require 10 micron filtration or better. Your typical “boat” filter is 30-40 microns. Need a second filter to reduce particulate down to 10 microns Clean filters cause very little flow restriction

    Contour maps?

Some units come with maps, some don’t. If the unit(s) didn’t come with maps you need to buy the appropriate chip. I believe Humminbird supports c-map. The lowrance could be c-map or Navionics

    Hull cleaning

It’s the price of admission to play/fish in one of the most hostile environments on the planet. It’s hard to understand until you witness a White Marlin tail walking behind the boat or hear the drag of a Penn 50 screaming under the pressure of a sounding #150 tuna on the end of the line. Then...

    Hull cleaning

I’m waxing have a 22’ Walkaround. It takes me a good 8-10 hours to compound, clean and apply the first coat of wax. Wait a week, then another 2-3 hours to apply the second coat. Collinite 885 is wet on wet application which requires application and removal by hand. A lot of work, but it only...

    Hull cleaning

Get heavy tannin in the water in the Spring. The boat is tea colored by the beginning of May. Tried all the usual boat waxes. A month or so at best. A good friend turned me on to Collinite 885. Get the better part of a season out of it. It's labor intensive to apply but nothing beats the...
