    1978 Islander 22 I/O

I doubled my floor under the pedestals to get the 1.5" thickness. One of the guys on here suggested T bolts when doing the through bolts. Worked out well for me. As for the Grade 8 bolts, you wont be breaking those... lol SHSU

Looks good and like the reuse of the box. Putting any heat shield on the cabinet since it is right over the burners? SHSU

That is a pretty helm you are putting together. I like the real wood choice. If only I had room for such a large project/boat. SHSU

Tractor paint worked well for me too. I used hardener too, but don't know if it was necessary. SHSU

How did you mount the trolling motor on the front? Looks like you used spacers to make it level. SHSU

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

There are varying opinions on Salt-Away, I personally haven't tried it so I can't say. That being said, 8 out of 10 trips will be in saltwater for us and I only use water/soap. I would guess that it should be fine, if not primarily used for that and you rinse it off as best you can when you...

Don't carpet if you are going to use in saltwater. If not, then shouldn't be a problem. SHSU

    1997 Mirrocraft 18' aluminum fish n ski

No idea, but think it should be easy to test. Although doing it with earmuffs might not provide enough water/pressure. SHSU

Can you just have the siren circuit disengaged when the starter is going? Have a simple always closed solenoid that opens when the starer is energized? SHSU

    21' 1972 Starcraft Holiday - Splashwell question

If you splashwell is separating all the time, I would check your transom to make sure it is still good. Something is twisting during use that is causing the stress/separation to occur. SHSU

Man I need that winch system you have. I should have thought of that when I did mine. I used the old engine lift method. SHSU

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

How is the splashwell holding up when you step on it? I remember when I had the old one it never felt very secure. Might have been just the bad rivets and rotten transom, but seemed to flex a lot under my weight. SHSU

    Stock Windshield Height?

Not the same boat, but my SS16 has a windshield height of 17 inches from top to console and 42 from deck to top of windshield. An extra 12 inches would probably let me actually sit behind a windshield vs looking over the top.... SHSU

Very nice, wish I had one big enough that I could do a potty as well. Do you have enough room if you have to sit? Looks like you are right under that front beam. SHSU

Yep, waiting till mine die out before swapping to one 12 and one 24 volt LifePo4 so I can run the house and one for trolling. Will keep a lead acid for starting. SHSU

I mounted my two house batteries up front. I think the ride is better and helps offset all the weight I have sitting in the back SHSU
