omc cobra 2.3L overheating

hello, I had my gimbal bearing go bad, No problem I pulled the outdrive replaced the bearing. I installed a spare outdrive with to verify it was good. I also installed a new water pump on it before a trial run. It ran hot with this outdrive. It was a clean fresh water drive. Now the boat I got...

i have points in my 1988 omc ford 2.3L Is there a kit available to swap it over to electronic ignition? if where do I buy it? I hate points!
