correction for Rollerball movie buffs .... it was the13th century Yes, you read that right. The librarian just dismissed the WHOLE OF THE 13th CENTURY that just disappeared from archival existence. That “Just Dante and a few corrupt popes” amount to “not much.” So I’m pausing in the middle of...

Leroy’s Site seems taken over …. anyone know where the original and precious contents went to ??? I wrote to the new Leroy….. asking where all the good OB stuff ended up. Hopefully not just turfed out like the 17th century in Rollerball !

I am not suggesting you zap things at 130v... that is for Telcos only clearing oxyde on cable pairs ...if that is what you had in mind !

post picture of the plate cleaned up

All good suggestions yet OP said 0 ohms measured from rectifier output to batery end of the cable . I asked several time to clean all connection points ....across the solenoid In telcos whenever we had green death on cable pairs joints/splices a good shot of DC 130v fromthe CO. would...

here is another option ... remove rect/reg . test stator specs for your engine if stator ok and generates AC hook up the stator AC source to cheap amazon full wave rectifier direct connect the Amazon unit to the battery and check for volts going up with rpms if your's is a 3 phase...

check your VOM most can handle 10 amps dc curent unless your's is a small .. very basic version .

here is one option... parts look-up for a 1980 25hp electric start shows..... 11.... :)

I do not have a blaster unfortunately and althought I do agree on the potential of rendering a plug useless I have across 50+ years ...done so with no apparent ill effects by simply not being overly agressive on the plugs. A small SS brush works to.... followed up with a wash of...

yet at several posts OP says battery charges up fine, runs the starter fine and no apparent "voltage change" when hooked up to a different battery (lawn tractor battery) well in theory with RPMs current/volts should flow out of the stator/rectifier and to eliminate the battery " option"...

by ohms law the disconnected end of the batt cable will be the highest resistance point of the cct so it is normal to see vols maybe not amps but volts only ! with the batt connected the highest resistive point is no longer the open air cable end work back to the solenoid and back to...

don't forget 15% GST and Prov. taxes here it adds up to $190 hr. asking competitors to agree on raise prices also known as collusion....:-( aka price fixing. one local shop wanted $375 (plus 15% taxes) for fixing 2 inches of broken keel ... JB weld $10 not perfect but ETEC blue will...

? sorry no pics

how is the weather ?

well those plugs could still work.. just polish them up on a wire wheel and carb cleaner , gap them reinstall them and get rid of the big anchor asap....

mdl# hp?? manuf ? ficht ?

have you or how have you determined it is faulty ?

this is like groundhog day.... measure your observed voltage variations from point "A" where you say the variataionsare evident then all the way to the batt post B+ via the solenoid interconnect point post your measured values values and observed reactions to RPM changes per site of...

see diag. Richard. btw your best place for ETEC problem solving (no offense) is the ETEC OWNERS BOARD forum where only ETECs are discussed. also has an excellent search utility https://www.etecownersgroup.com/latest
