Only thing I'd get now if going newer is a 4 stroke outboard. I will never have an EPA over-reach no one asked for this 700*F heat generator in the bilge of a boat that I own and maintain. Be very careful about buying one of these, the check engine lights will drive you out of your mind, just...

The 225/75-15 Load Range D tires I have on mine are rated at 2540 lbs each for a total of 5080 lbs, as far as tires. My axle/hubs/brakes are good for 6,000 and the springs (5 leaf) are good for 5700. Trailer has 4650 on the axle and 420 lbs on the tongue, total 5070 lbs. First time since I've...

If I had problems with this each year I'd: get a mechanic's inspection mirror take a good look at the mounting pad if you see any alu oxidation just lightly sand it with a bit of 600 sand paper to smooth it out coat liberally with motor oil.

Tip: Lube BOTH the gasket & mounting pad with motor oil. I’ve never had one stick this way The alu of the base starts to oxidize and gets a little rough

Yep the model # is the key to what you have with a V/P.

Load Rite & Venture sell single axles with a 5200 lb capacity axle and they have load capacities of approx 3600 lbs, plus the weight of the trailer. If you have a tight storage situation & need to maneuver it by hand the single is the way to go. They are also easier on tires because the tires...

You’ll need to know hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center if it’s a leaf spring axle. If you’re in freshwater & don’t need a galvanized axle it will be easier to find.

If they total the trailer can you find a different company to insure it? A single axle can cost anywhere from 350-450 plus installation. I just paid $445 for a custom 2x3 galvanized drop axle 6,000 lb capacity & installed it myself back in September…

Check it again & report back

You remove each lead and measure with an ohm meter should be approx 1,000 ohms per foot of length. Auto shop 101

Only other thing you can try is If you can access the nuts that hold the inner & outer transom together and tighten them you MIGHT get lucky. Worth a shot! If not then you have a big job, but it beats buying another used boat

If you can access the main + stud on the fuse box, what’s the voltage there? Any drop between the bat switch & fuse box? How’s the fuse box negative to battery connection? I found a high resistance circuit in my old wiring harness by measuring both then running jumper wires to figure out which...

I can see exactly what you’re taking about I am also very financially conservative and now ALL my stuff is OLD: 1998 Grand Cherokee 2007 Grand Cherokee 1988 Four Winns But to change? Won’t buy a newer I/0 boat too hard to service & wont have cat exhaust Want a newer Jeep but don’t want...

Wonder if there could be some oxidation on that fuse….might be solved by just removing and reinstalling… That boat was from Long Island & in our salt environment these issues are not uncommon. One year at spring start up I had no cranking power, no gauges with ignition on. The old school glass...

I thought I saw a black canister fuel filter in the video if that’s the case there would be no reason at all to have any additional filter. Ideally the only rubber fuel hose you have in these systems should be from the tank to the filter assembly, the filter to pump & pump to carb lines should...

Distributor cap & rotor might be bad not coil….also check resistance of high tension leads…

That’s great now get rid of that in line fuel filter that does not belong in the bilge of a gas inboard. PS I drove cars that had points from 1972 till about 1980 and only had one breakdown from points (1965 VW Beetle) that was fixed at the side of the road with a screwdriver & feeler gauge…...

If the wrench slips then, take a piece of coarse sand paper, fold it so the rough side is out on both sides then slip it between the strap n the filter, been doing that since the 70s….make sure to coat the rubber gasket well with oil and no more than hand tight…

Aluminum Four Barrel or Aluminum 4 Barrel Then there was the Thermoquad with the plastic bowl to keep fuel cooler Holley actually just brought beck that design….check their site…. Personally I’m a fan of the venerable Quadrajet, we had one on a ‘75 Olds 350 and owned that car about 11 years...

That came in pairs on top of a 426 Hemi 😉
