It is esasy to test sensor coils ( trigger ) and charge coils.-----4 coils do not fail at once.----Not sure of the benefits in testing with a " load adapter "------What is your motor doing / not doing ?

That is NOT a Trim cylinder.----If there is a hydraulic line to this item , it is a TILT ONLY cylinder.-----If there is no oil line to it it is a shock absorber.

A failed oil pump could lead to expensive issues.----Do a compression test and post the numbers.

It is just a stainless pin.-------Sold everywhere.-----Have one made !---Use a proper size bolt and cut to suit.-----No big deal in my opinion.

Corrosion products-------In the presence of salt water and oxygen that white powder forms,-----Called aluminum oxide.-----So now there is more material in there ( oxygen ) that jams things up very , very tight.-----So heat can be used to expand the aluminum to loosen up the steel pin.-----Or...

Still lots of folks ( and new owners ) who are not aware that an outboard needs a new impeller about every 3 years.

There are no adjustments.-----Take gearcase apart.-----Dive in and see what is wrong.----Easy to see what is wrong !

Motor must be running when you shift it.----Or prop must be turned if motor is not running.

??--The main bearings on the 6 HP are bronze.----Never an issue at 50:1 on them !!

It could be a FORCE motor on that boat.-----No pictures or model , serial # was posted -.----Maybe I missed it.

Drain gear oil first.

A nautical mile ( knot ) is equal to 1 minute of latitude.----Something found on a chart.

Try the correct starting procedure.--No need to push it in before cranking.-----Pump bulb tight / raise fast idle/ push key in / hold it in and crank it over !----Charge battery and have battery load tested.

Are you pushing the key in AND holding it in while cranking it over ??
