I can get all of the glyphosate drums I want for free but I don’t think I would want my garden growing in one even though I know they have been properly rinsed. I mostly use them for trash cans and have been known to cut them up to make forms for concrete. Food grade drums cost money here. I...

Bruises the size of quarters and half-dollars all over the torso and arms. Ours were required to be tested not to exceed 300 fps. No need for more. Paintballs had trouble surviving the trip much faster than that anyway. More accurate than a person would think possible. Things may have changed...

We are using tubs that cattle feed comes in (might be mineral tubs). We got some several years ago for free from a guy who had some cattle. We also bought some 4x8x1corrugated metal raised planter bed kits off Amazon. They were 2 for $100. Both have worked well for us.

Tires will generally let a person know when they are going bad and should be changed. A person just needs to actually look at them now and then. I am not a tire guy but I have disassembled and reassembled a lot of tires over the years and never saw one that was in worse shape on the inside than...

The only trailer tire problems I had involved the small bias ply tires that came on my jon boat trailer 30 years ago. Guaranteed one blow out on every trip more than 20 miles. One long trip from Fairbanks to Circle cost me 2 tires. I raised the fenders and installed radials. Never had another...

I have had to launch where I stepped into water getting out of the truck so pretty easy for me to imagine getting a jack wet. Shallow sloped boat ramp with long pontoon boat pretty much guarantees it. My rear axles have been completely submerged. I have never done a saltwater launch but have had...

Yeah, I’m not reading that crap just for curiosity’s sake. I spend more than enough time in CFR 14.

True, but I think a lot less than what gets in a ski boat during a active day on the lake.

That looks like a serial number tag in the one picture. Most manufacturers let you search for parts using the motor serial number.

Yes, several times and no, never. Never been an issue until this week. I tell whomever calls me how to reset and usually text them a link to the procedure otherwise it is an easy $50 for me to run to the dock and reset it if they choose to wait.

Only if you have to compensate for something else 😜

My boat didn’t come from the store with an automatic bilge pump. It’s not that much smaller than these ski boats. Where is the size break?

It’s possible I missed something somewhere but the only instructions I could ever find only work when the alarm is sounding. 100 hours later, it sounds again no matter how many times you do the procedure before then.

Unless there is an intermittent issue causing a coincidence, it appears the answer to my question is “yes”. The manager drove the boat this morning and let me know it ran fine.

Every one I have seen has a screen built into the mount. This last one unclipped from it pretty easily… but then I had decent access for a change too.

No, not the same but run through the same computer and indicator. They are bad about ignoring engine alarms. No telling how many hours it was driven with it beeping and the light flashing. Turning on the key and cycling the kill switch shut off the warning light and the beep. I just don’t know...

Can the oil change due warning put the motor in limp mode? I was called out because the DF250 was sounding an alarm, had an oil pressure light and would not go to full power. Knowing it had an oil change last fall and the oil on the dipstick was full and clean, I performed the oil change...

These boat are on lifts in covered docks. Most have covers on them. At any given time I can walk the slips and hear one or more pumps running for no reason, even on boats only a couple of years old. The boat today is six years old and the bilge is surprisingly clean. I am glad it wasn’t the...

They never fail to fail ON and drain the battery to ZERO volts. Most chargers today won’t even attempt to charge a flat battery and the odds favor the battery being trash at that point anyway. I don’t see a reason to have bilge pumps hard wired to the battery if all they can do is kill the...

BTW… cool project!
