had one in town years ago that had the electric winch stolen in the middle of the day. The owners came back and wanted to load the boat, no winch. Others were there that said it was a red truck, two guys got out and unbolted it, the others that were there just thought it was being taken off for...

Not the same boat, but mine wouldn’t drain, I could poke the hole, nothing worked. I ended up poking from the engine room up fwd, then the debris came out and drained.

Whats left of a local boat when it fueled up. Don't exactly know what caused it but it was fuel related. Stb motor wouldn't start. So he tried the port motor. Boom. Nobody hurt luckily.

Wow, glad you got the fire out. Most cases you end up bailing out of the boat and watch it burn while you swim for help. Yet another reason to carry an extinguisher.

Several ideas here are good. Transom bolts, drain plug, ect. Another thing could be the steering pin. At rest some are under water and will leak.

Put it like it was, if not better. If you want to add more support, go for it,just don’t block access for later.

It's much easier to install an ignition switch. Another small panel for the accessories.

Agree with all the above, if the exhaust bellow is that bad the rest are not far behind.

I'm guessing it's the foot pedal.

I’m not going to re-read all the responses righ now, did you replace the lower shift cable?

I personally don’t care for sierra. Having worked with them parts 15-17 years ago, they were not good. I know some of their parts have improved over time but if I need parts that are reliable, I go to quicksilver.

Sounds like a stuck relay.

They do make rubber fuel proof gaskets also. The cork ones are fine, so are the rubber ones. I actually have a couple spares from when I worked at a marina and had to replace senders. The new ones come with a gasket, but the old rubber gaskets were good. So being who I am, I saved them.

Mine was like that also. I applied glass on the outer transom then faired as minimal as possible. Used a long straightedge to make sure it was flat as flat. The only worry I had was if the motor would line up properly, but it was perfect. Only had to tweak the mounts a touch. I had rebuilt all...

It’s always awkward the first time.

Don’t do that^^^ use genuine quicksilver kit, you will be glad you did. I’m not a fan of doing i again any time soon again.

Yup, looks like bellows leak. Time to pull the drive.

Yeah, but there are some that test by running the pump, they start and stop if there is no resistance. If it detects resistance it runs till it grabs air and stops. Those are the type I don’t like. Others detect it differently. Those are ok.

Yes I know. Seen one that came in several years ago, it had 30 8d batteries, plus the engine batteries. Clean install, but glad we didn’t have to replace that lot!
