How badly is it bent ?----Should be easy to change a good ( not bent ) propshaft.---Or have your local machine shop straighten it ?------Find one and ask how to change it

When throttle is advanced too far that red pawl blocks the recoil from rotating !!!!

Perhaps you meant between trigger and flywheel ??

Simple inspection will find the issue.

Nothing but garbage in those pictures.

It is rare but a cylinder sleeve may have rotated.----Pulling the exhaust covers my help inspect for that.----Gaskets are cheap.

The picture on the right is correct.-----And just so you know it can be started in gear !!----The red mechanism prevent starting when THROTTLE is open too far.

People take thermostats out when they do not know and are desperate !----Are you testing in a bucket or with boat floating in the water ?-----Maybe the tell tale hose is plugged , have you tried to clean it and fittings ??

Remove cover on cylinder head to find the thermostat.----Are you testing in a bucket or in the lake ??
