Ok…so after doing some fine tuning in a water bin today I ran into another issue. Keep in mind I changed lower unit fluid so totally fresh( one of the first things i did), it was becoming noticeably harder to pull the starter chord after I tested the shifter forward and reverse etc. kept dying...

Carb float adjustment

Thanks to all who advised on this one; she is purring as the day she was created-couldn’t have done it without everyone’s input-or i would still be googling aimlessly and drinking aimlessly. Now at least I have a valid celebratory reason-on to the next one…project that is. Cheers!

Or return as not functional; decided the original pump on the motor is just fine-fired her up again and all is just fine and good enough. Don’t fix if it ain’t broke!

Thank you-I had it running for about 10 min today trying to dial it in. The fuel pump came by mail and must’ve vibrated apart in the box during shipping. I’m trying to google a parts assembly diagram for this thing; fuel pump 388685. Having no luck at all as what’s on the web is vague at best...

Sounds like air coming in somewhere. Had similar issue. Turned out one of the port gaskets was sucking air

Yeah I’m aware of that but to me it looked a bit too close to being flush with shaft surface and it will not move ; interchangeable ?
