S/N still not come up, oh well. I think yours should be similar to the GXI with multi port injection.
Does it have the flat style distributor cap?
When motor is cranking can you see at least 300 rpm on the tach?
There is at least 2 if not 3 relays relays (square type) on the motor. If only...
There is a digit missing from the serial number I think
My guess is the auction lied
The power should not go away. Power is supplied by the ignition relay and should stay ON. Do you hear the fuel pump turn ON for a few seconds when key id turned to ON?
Can you get the motor scanned for codes?
Yes there should be a main fuse, and might be a in line type. Might also be the key switch or bad connection. Use a voltmeter and see if 12V is at the key, and when turned to start
I have a 131 diagram but its hard to read and the 165 and 170 is easier which is attached
The mans and elbows don't look bad, sealing surfaces could use a flat file or other maybe. The elbow exhaust end is erroded some, and if you were having trouble with reversion then I would think more about it at that location. Appear to be fresh water
Boat list 2750 lb dry weight. Add...

Have not heard "cut wax" term
Maybe rubbing compound
Post a pic here by using the "attach files" button on the bottom left
I don't see them as being disabled (OFF-not active), they are just not reading a fault (ON-active). The MEFI is either OFF or ON and does it that way. The fault can be disabled by turning the flag OFF using SW like MEFIburn (I have the SW)
If the riser gaskets are leaking you would be able to see a path on the gasket where its not sealing. As Lou said may also see rust
I'm seeing more weight is probably the issue. Kids growing up, and could also be the boat is soaking up some water along with the chop. Happen to see water on...
Don't see your issue has anything to do with water in the cylinders. If it ever hydrolocked (running) it would be rebuild time
What motor is it? GL, Gi, other, serial number would be great
If all the water is out, AF can be sucked in. The issue is the pumps don't suck very much at all, so there is a possiablility the impeller could be damaged doing it. Could use a pump, like maybe sump pump
