Have never seen a SB (even stroked) put out more "low end" torque then a BB. Pretty sure your going to like the 8.2 in the 28 footer (5500 lbs). That said, hope there is no problems with the CATs

Have you thought about replacing it with a newer one? Sherwood pump M10280G for RH or M10270G for LH

One which may be an issue is the tachometer, and that's only if the gauge doesn't have a setting for the number of cylinders. Only other issue I can think of which may be an issue is the sensor size (if there is enough room to install)

When putting a hot wire on the pump does it run?

Your probably not feeding it in the correct orientation. What motor is this?

Was listening/looking for the same change in rpm with the loosening of each injector. If they were all the same change then there should be no issue
