any time you touch any of the screws on any mount, you need to re-align the motor. you should be checking alignment every year as part of your annual maintenance. no way to get around alignment if you pull the motor to remove the transom plate. I suggest finding a complete 1992 or later 3.0...

inspect the exhaust shutters. if the rubber bits are missing, your motor suffered an overheat

make sure you get the exact same lock combination. (D shaped pins vs round)

and the inlet from the transom shield

your motor should have a factory installed drain hose you pull thru the garboard plug hole.
