    Bluegill

I just watched this a few minutes ago. It'd be great to catch whoppers like these! 😃

    Nobody fishing?

Well, we've been fishing at our secret honey-hole pond almost every week since my prior posts. And we've met with success... and break offs. Frustrating! 😠 I hooked into another large bass a few weeks ago while using a Smithwick Devil's Horse. The fish hit the lure about 20' from me and I...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Took this pic a few days ago in our front yard, using my phone, and through a window. :sneaky: The big girl was like: This is my stump! My stump!

    Bluegill

Bluegill really are darn fine eating! They're actually my wife's primary target when we fish. I posted this video 7 years ago and she still goes after the 'gills even just 2 days ago. The 11 bluegill in that little cooler weighed 8 pounds in total. Not bad and mighty tasty!

Very nice! Bluegill are sweet and tasty; my wife's favorite to catch. She caught a few this evening.

Replacing old 2 stroke with newer 4 stroke advice?

I'll clarify something I said earlier in Post #13. If I could afford a brand new boat, which was designed to handle the weight of a brand new 4-stroke outboard. I'd do that in a heartbeat. But, I can't. So, I'm stuck with rebuilding/restoring old boats with "ancient engines." To the best...

    Crazy sighting.

Agreed. I worked in the space biz for several decades and "flew" some of those satellites. 📡 They've been over our country and around the planet since the late 1950s and early 1960s. Terrific stuff! 🛰️

    Mini Excavators

It's a canine print of some kind. Not a cat. Need scale to estimate. Depending on where you are, it could be a wolf, a dog or a coyote. Got this from the internet. And I took these pix while scouting over a dozen years ago. Coyote track. Black bear track. Estimated size of 300 - 400...

Replacing old 2 stroke with newer 4 stroke advice?

Yup! I spoke with my Mercury mechanic and he told me that it simply wasn't cost effective to repair a 2005 150 4-stroke that he had at his shop because of lack of parts. So he scraps them when they come into the shop. Sad. 🙁 He calls my old 2-strokes "ancient" but I'll keep them for awhile...

And we're home. All good. The hotel breakfast was disappointing. :sneaky:

Sitting in a hotel room when I don't wanna... Hurricane Idalia

We made it through the night. Still dark out, so we can't see anything. I definitely wouldn't leave our place if we had a concrete home. I chose the location very carefully, but being in a mobile is the deciding factor. Better forecasting would help. :sneaky:

    Carburetor's

My official Mercury manual for my 1980s 50 and 70hp 2-stroke outboards sets timing using the starter only and the engine isn't started. Yeah, WOT and running would definitely be scary.
